Resource content

A self-assessment framework and practitioner guide produced by NIHR to help health and care research organisations improve racial equity in public involvement. It covers five domains — individual responsibility, leadership, public partnerships, recruitment, and systems and processes — and includes 50 self-assessment questions, case studies from pilot organisations, and a step-by-step implementation process.

To get the most from this resource

This resource was produced by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), a UK government body based in England. It was designed primarily for organisations working in health and care research in England and Wales, and all case studies and examples reflect that context. Scottish practitioners should read the resource with their own context in mind and adapt the self-assessment questions and process accordingly.
