Leadership is very important in driving equality and human rights initiatives. Effective leaders can inspire and mobilise others, ensuring that equality and human rights are a priority at all levels of the organisation.

The following six key drivers (key themes) have been developed specifically for the Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Strategy. They were created through extensive engagement and consultation with officials from across Scottish Government, the wider public sector, and equality and human rights third sector organisations.
These drivers are intended as a practical and adaptable framework to support organisations in mainstreaming.
The drivers are designed to work together and, if applied thoughtfully, could help create lasting change in your organisation.
