Collect and use diversity data

You could:

At foundation level:

• Implement basic methods for collecting diversity data about your workforce and service users
• Publish workforce diversity data and pay gap information as required (taking independent legal advice and seeking guidance, as appropriate)

At development level:

• Collect diversity data systematically using surveys, focus groups and other tools
• Analyse collected data regularly to identify patterns, gaps and areas for improvement
• Use data to inform equality and human rights strategies and measure progress

Suggested Priority: High | Suggested Timeframe: Short (1-2 years) and ongoing

Understanding priorities and timeframes

Priority levels

  • High priority: Essential actions that form the foundation for equality and human rights mainstreaming
  • Medium priority: Important actions that build on foundational work
  • Low priority: Beneficial actions for advanced implementation

Timeframes

  • Short (1-2 years): Actions that can be implemented relatively quickly
  • Medium (2-5 years): Actions requiring more extensive planning and resources
  • Ongoing: Actions that should continue throughout your mainstreaming journey
