Accessibility

This website is run by the Scottish Government. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. You should be able to:

  • use your web browser to change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without loss of information
  • navigate all of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate all of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • access the website using a mobile or tablet.
  • use the ReciteMe accessibility toolbar to customise your experience, including text-to-speech, translation, and styling options

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

This website itself is fully accessible. The toolkit has been tested with a range of assistive technologies, including JAWS, ZoomText, Read and Write, and browser-based accessibility features. All issues identified during accessibility testing have been resolved, and no major or minor barriers remain for users.

However, some resources available on this website, such as certain PDF, Word, or PowerPoint documents, may not be fully accessible to screen reader software. We are working to fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages where possible.
