Context: SDS recognised that leadership commitment was essential to improve workforce diversity data collection and create meaningful change.

Approach: SDS leadership implemented a comprehensive diversity monitoring system with clear organisational commitment to improving diversity data collection.

Implementation:

  • Leaders established clear GDPR-compliant processes with transparency about data use
  • A four-step approach implemented: Trust, Campaign, Self-service, and Simplification
  • Senior commitment to using data for meaningful improvements
  • Regular communication from leadership about the importance of diversity data

  • 940 colleagues updated their diversity information
  • Achieved consistently high response rates across all categories
  • Created a culture where diversity monitoring is valued and understood
